Leadership Opportunities FAQs

EO Perth offers numerous leadership roles for members, such as serving on the Board, championing key initiatives, coaching and mentoring and  helping to organize chapter events. Leadership roles provide an excellent opportunity to give back to the chapter, develop leadership skills, and shape the future of our community.

Members interested in leadership roles are encouraged to express their interest to the current Board or General Manager. Each year, positions open for nomination, and we also seek volunteers for various committee roles. Chapter members will receive communication about leadership opportunities, including the nomination process in October/November each year.

The EO Perth Board is elected annually. Members are invited to submit nominations or apply for available positions during the nomination period. Board members oversee key areas such as Forum, Engagement, Events, Membership, Finance, Governance and Strategic Alliances.

Board members are responsible for guiding the strategic direction of the chapter and ensuring the chapter’s continued growth and success. Each Board position has specific duties, such as Forum placement and health, organizing events, managing membership growth,  onboarding new members or forming strategic partnerships.

EO Perth provides training and resources to help members succeed in leadership roles. This includes the annual Global Leadership Conference, Strategy Summits  leadership workshops, mentoring from experienced EO members, and guidance from the Global EO network. Leadership roles are a great way to develop both professionally and personally.

Absolutely! New members are encouraged to get involved. While some roles may require prior experience within EO, many leadership and volunteer opportunities are open to newer members. It’s a great way to engage with the chapter and build relationships.

The time commitment varies depending on the role. Board members typically commit a few hours per week, while other leadership roles, such as committee chairs or event organizers, may require less frequent involvement. Most leadership roles are flexible, and we work with members to ensure a manageable commitment.

Yes, in addition to local leadership roles, EO members can pursue leadership positions at the regional and global levels. These roles allow you to collaborate with EO chapters worldwide and contribute to the broader EO community.
